Lastly, I know that a good coaching relationship is crucial to a positive coaching experience. If for any reason my style doesn’t align with your needs I will refer you to another coach. How does Coaching work?

Health and wellness coaching is successfully based on health behavior change models integrating health education, positive psychology, and coaching psychology principles. Doctors around the world are promoting health and wellness coaching as an effective method for making lasting changes in your mental and physical health.

The process of wellness coaching progresses through several stages:

  1. You provide background information through a well-being assessment so that you and your coach are well-informed on the key issues, including health or medical considerations.

  2. During the first 70-90 minute coaching session, you identify your priorities and develop a personal wellness plan including a vision, three-month goals and the first steps to being your wellness journey.

  3. In subsequent 45-60 minute coaching sessions, each week, you and your coach review the progress toward your vision and goals, explore and resolve the most pressing issues, learn something new, and then agree on a set of goals for the following week. You will enjoy plenty of ah-ha insights along the way.

  1. By the end of three months, you can expect to reach more than 70% of your three-month goals and feel energized and confident to continue your progress or embark on new areas with or without your coach.

Wellness Coaching is typically done over the phone which has many benefits for you as the client.  Phone appointments can be scheduled at your convenience and you can participate in appointments from the comfort of whatever space you enjoy most.  Yes, bunny slippers are A-Ok! Coaching relationships typically last a minimum of three months to allow you a sufficient time-frame to choose, learn, and maintain healthy behaviors that will last a lifetime.

What payment options do I have for Health and Wellness Coaching?

Health and wellness coaching is a scientifically proven, effective tool for disease prevention and health maintenance.  Working with a health and wellness coach is an investment in your future. Your investment in coaching will more than pay for itself with avoidance of future healthcare appointment and prescription costs. Most importantly, how you will feel when you achieve your health and wellness goals is a PRICELESS return on investment.

We invoice for services using online payment provider PayPal.  PayPal offers you the choice of secure, convenient payment options by both your credit card or bank account.  Each client has unique priorities and needs.  That’s why I offer unique, custom designed programs with a sliding scale rate schedule. Many health insurance plans offer reimbursement of payment for health and wellness coaching services.  Insurance plans recognize that it is better (and cheaper) to prevent disease than to treat disease.  Therefore including health and wellness coaching benefits in their health insurance coverage makes sense.  Check your health insurance plan details to find out if you are covered for health and wellness coaching.

Employers know that healthy employees who are living well are happy productive employees. That’s why more and more employer wellness programs offer seperate benefits to reimburse for health coaching in addition to health insurance. Your employer may also offer you a tax deferred health savings account. A health savings account gives you the ability to put aside money each month tax-free that you can use for eligible health services.  Some health savings accounts recognize health and wellness coaching as reimbursable services.
